Going interisland on the ferry is an exciting experience for the whole family, and with Bluebridge your family is well looked after. There are family change areas centrally located on both ships, free movies for the kids, hearty and healthy snacks, children’s play areas, an ample lounge and safe outdoor areas.

Family cabins
We understand that when travelling with little ones it's nice to have your own space. We have a number of family sized four berth cabins available for hire onboard the Straitsman. These cost just $60 each way and can include a portacot if required at no extra charge. To book a cabin for your family, simply visit reception onboard before the ferry departs.

Catch a free movie with your kids! All our films are PG-rated to ensure fun for the whole family.

Kids meals
Our kiddies’ meals go down a treat. Wee ones have the choice of nuggets, mini hot dogs or fish bites served with fries and classic tomato sauce. We also offer a range of healthy snacks and baking along with some of New Zealand's most loved brands like Cookie Time.
Change stations
Family change areas are centrally located near the lounges onboard and inside both of our passenger terminals at Wellington and Picton.
Children's play areas
Our interisland ferries have ample indoor lounge spaces that include play areas for children. Plus you can keep an eye out for wildlife in the outdoor areas all over the ship.
