Child Cancer Foundation March appeal
Did you know that three children are diagnosed with cancer each week in New Zealand and collectively undergo a total of 100,000 treatments and procedures?
Here at Bluebridge we're passionate about doing our bit to help Kiwi kids with cancer, and their families.
We have been working closely with the Child Cancer Foundation for several years, co-ordinating free transport for families who need to travel across Cook Strait for treatment or consultations.
In addition to our free travel arrangement we worked with the Child Cancer Foundation on their annual appeal month in March where we will donated $1 from every Bluebridge passenger booking made.
We also gave two local families who have children with cancer a special behind the scenes tour on the Straitsman which included a visit to the bridge, engine room and lunch. In addition to this the families received a voucher to travel at a time that is most suited to them plus special goodie bags for the kids.
We are pleased to announce that we raised $13,500 in March for the Child Cancer Foundation - this included additional donations from our staff and customers.
Child Cancer touches so many New Zealand families every year and we are dedicated to supporting those families in need. Whether it's helping out with free ferry crossings for children receiving treatment or specialist care, or fundraising to support the incredible work of the Child Cancer Foundation, Bluebridge wants to help children with cancer.
