Rental cars and parking

While we do not have long term parking at our terminals, there are plenty of options close-by in both Wellington and Picton. Some car rental companies will allow you to pick-up or leave your vehicle at our terminals provided it is pre-arranged (check the details below). We hope that the following information will assist you in planning your next New Zealand holiday itinerary.

Car Parking near Wellington Ferry Terminal

1. Care Park NZ, **Short Term Parking**

Care Park NZ offers hourly rates Monday to Friday. Pay at their ticket machine and display the ticket face-up on your dashboard. 

Westpac Stadium - Waterloo Quay, multi story, Pay & Display and manned booths, open Monday to Friday only, 750 car spaces.

2. Wilson Parking **Short Term Parking** 

There are over 32 Wilson parking spots located in the Wellington CBD and our terminal is conveniently located close to quite a few:

Stout Street - Multi level covered parking -  9-13 Stout street off Lambton Quay (opposite the Supreme Court and District Court).

Station Car Park83 Waterloo Quay, uncovered, opposite our terminal.

Apex Car Rentals

If pre-arranged, customers can return their vehicle to Apex (186 Victoria St, Wellington) prior to sailing and be driven to the terminal by a member of their staff. You can also arrange to leave keys with Bluebridge staff and vehicle in our car park for Apex to collect. If pre-arranged customers can sign their paperwork at the Picton office and car/keys will be delivered to our Wellington terminal for you to collect upon arrival.
Avis After drop off (25 Dixon St, Wellington) customers must find their own way to the terminal to catch the ferry. If pre-arranged Avis will collect car from terminal if keys left with our staff.

Thrifty After drop off (197 Wakefield St, Wellington) customers must find their own way to the terminal to catch the ferry. If pre-arranged Thrifty will collect car from terminal if keys left with our staff. Customers must make their own way to the Thrifty office to pick up their rental car
Ace Rentals

If between 9am-4pm and arranged at least 30 mins prior then Ace are happy to drop customers back to terminal. They do not collect returned vehicles from our terminal. Their office is located at 126 Hutt Road, Wellington.

If between 9am-4pm and arranged at least 30 mins prior, ace will meet customers at our terminal to drop the rental car off to them.
Europcar Customers must find their own way back from the Europcar office (290 Aotea Quay, Wellington) after a drop off. If pre-arranged, Europcar will collect the car from Bluebridge terminal car park if keys are given to terminal staff. Customers must make their own way to the Eurpocar office to pick up their rental car
Budget Customers must find their own way back from the Budget office (located at Wellington airport) after a drop off. If pre-arranged, Budget will collect the car from Bluebridge terminal car park if keys are given to terminal staff. Customers must make their own way to the Budget office to pick up their rental car
Hertz Customers must find their own way back from the Hertz office (38-44 Hania St, Wellington) after a drop off. If pre-arranged, Hertz will collect the car from Bluebridge terminal car park if keys are given to terminal staff. Customers must make their own way to the Hertz office to pick up their rental car

Car parking near Picton ferry terminal

1. Pay and display - uncovered carparking 

Longer-term parking is available directly opposite the terminal. This is Pay and Display system and costs $1 per hour, or $6 per day. You can pay by text, credit card or coins. You can book up to 9 days on a single ticket.

The Bluebridge courtesy shuttle departs from the bus shelter outside the Interislander terminal 1 hour prior to each sailing. If pre-arranged Apex will collect your car from our terminal if keys are left with staff. Customers can take the Bluebridge courtesy shuttle to the Apex office at 27 Auckland Street to pick-up their vehicle after collecting luggage from our terminal.
Avis The Bluebridge courtesy shuttle departs from the bus shelter outside the Interislander terminal (where the Avis booth is located) 1 hour prior to each sailing. If pre-arranged Avis will collect your car from our terminal if keys are left with staff. Customers can take the Bluebridge courtesy shuttle to the Avis booth at the Interislander terminal to pick-up their vehicle after collecting luggage from our terminal.
Thrifty The Bluebridge courtesy shuttle departs from the bus shelter outside the Interislander terminal (where a Thrifty office is located) 1 hour prior to each sailing. If pre-arranged Thrifty will collect your car from our terminal if keys are left with staff. Customers can take the Bluebridge courtesy shuttle to the Thrifty office at the Interislander terminal to pick-up their vehicle after collecting luggage from our terminal.
Ace Rentals The Bluebridge courtesy shuttle departs from the bus shelter outside the Interislander terminal (where an Ace Rentals office is located) 1 hour prior to each sailing. Ace Rentals DO NOT collect cars from our terminal. Customers can take the Bluebridge courtesy shuttle to the Ace Rentals office at the Interislander terminal to pick-up their vehicle after collecting luggage from our terminal.
Europcar The Bluebridge courtesy shuttle departs from the bus shelter outside the Interislander terminal (where a Europcar office is located) 1 hour prior to each sailing. If pre-arranged Europcar will collect your car from our terminal if keys are left with staff. Customers can take the Bluebridge courtesy shuttle to the Europcar office at the Interislander terminal to pick-up their vehicle after collecting luggage from our terminal.
Budget The Bluebridge courtesy shuttle departs from the bus shelter outside the Interislander terminal (where a Budget office is located) 1 hour prior to each sailing. If pre-arranged Budget will collect your car from our terminal if keys are left with staff. Ezi Rent / Nationwide The Bluebridge courtesy shuttle departs from the bus shelter outside the Interislander terminal (where a Ezi Rent/Nationwide office is located) 1 hour prior to each sailing. If pre-arranged Ezi Rent/Nationwide will collect your car from our terminal if keys are left with staff. Customers can take the Bluebridge courtesy shuttle to the Ezi Rent office at the Interislander terminal to pick-up their vehicle after collecting luggage from our terminal.
Omega The Omega office is located across the road from the Bluebridge terminal. If pre-arranged Omega will collect your car from the Bluebridge terminal if keys are left with Bluebridge staff. After disembarking and collecting luggage, customers can simply walk across the road to collect their vehicle.
